Vaccine Legislation Hits Senate Roadblock

Legislation banning vaccines containing a mercury preservative hit a roadblock in the senate today (Thursday).

The legislation would ban immunizations containing thimerasol, a mercury preservative beginning in 2006.

Supporters of the bill say they fear there may be a link between exposure to thimerasol and autism.

The bill got laid aside after Democratic Senator Harry Kennedy raised concerns.
