Workers rally for compensation and unemployment benifits

More than 2,500 workers gathered to rally against Republican sponsored changes to unemployment and workers compensation benefits.

Leading Democrats led the rally on the Capitol lawn.

Workers attending the rally say they don't trust Republicans to support their rights.

Republican Rep. Larry Crawford says the democratic criticism is unwarranted.

"I think it's a little disingenious for them to say that we don't care, in fact you have to have an environment in which people are willing to hire workers before you can have jobs."

At the rally, Democratic Sen. Ken Jacob lashed out against leading Republicans saying they need to be removed from office.
