Disabled Missourians rally outside the Capitol.

Governor Bob Holden addressed the concerns of more than six hundred disabled Missourians at the Capitol today (Wednesday).

Matt Johnson tells us how the disabled are fighting for their rights.

He says he needs government help to live a more equal lifestyle.

"We also need to have some kind of program where a disabled person can own their own home...and we don't have to bow down to some privatized organization that overcharges the federal government for their services."

Senator Joan Bray and disabled representative Chuck Graham also spoke in front of the crowd along with the Governonr.

He he will work with the disabled to meet their needs.

The crowd drew disabled from all over Missouri.

They share a common concern that more money is needed to fund programs to help them purchase their own homes.

"We will work with you...I've said all along that I believe they deserve to have choice and if they don't need to be in the nursing homes and they don't want to be there, they shouldn't be there."
