Transportation chair meets with concerned St. Charles business leaders

St. Charles business leaders are lobbying for more money to fix highways. Matt Johnson tells how lawmakers are working with the leaders.

Transportation chairman and St. Charles county senator Jon Dolan heard business leaders concern over transportation issues. Greg Prestemon is President of St. Charles County's Economic Developement Center. He says I-70 is a prime example of how the state needs to improve roads.

"It's got to the point now where we won't be able to add any new capacity to our highway system...in a very short fashion...and we're not even going to be able to take care of what we have. We were driving over here on Interstate seventy today and the condition of Interstate seventy is just atrocious."

More than thirty business representatives from St. Charles met with lawmakers. They say they are happy with the legislature's agenda.
