Missouri Senate hears bill that controls campaign funds

The Missouri Senate passed a bill on Thursday that will effect how government officials handle their campaign funds.

Wrap: The Missouri Senate third read and passed its first ethics bill of the 2016 session on Thursday.

The Senate has struggled to pass any ethics bills so far, despite claiming they were a priority this session.

The bill imposed requirements on investments of political campaign funds.

Description: "The individual can dissolve their campaign committee by giving the money back to donors, to another candidate to a political party committee or to a 501C3 charity."
After multiple amendments and a 3 hour discussion, the bill passed 30 to 0. The bill had support from many senators, including Sen. Holsman from Kansas City, who originally voted to pass the bill out of committee.
