Wrap: The NRA endorsed Chris Koster for Attorney General, making him the only Democrat running for statewide office to receive a nod.

Koster received an A rating - a rating that goes to candidates who have a strong record of supporting gun rights.

Richard Heller chairs Sportsmen for Ed Martin, an organization supporting Koster's Republican opponent. He says Kosters' past record in the state senate got him the endorsement.

Run Time:  00:13
Description: "I think the reason that the competition has the NRA's endorsement is that he's a known quantity. He's been in office as a Republican before - before he went to Obamaland."

Koster was a Republican before switching parties in 2007.

Wrap: Attorney General Chris Koster received an endorsement from the National Rifle Association this week. He's the only Democrat running for statewide office to receive one from the NRA this year.

Koster received an A rating - a rating given to candidates who have a strong gun record.

Koster campaign spokeswoman Rachel Levine says he has always displayed a commitment to second amendment rights.

Run Time:  00:11
Description: "I think that the reason why the NRA chose to give us the endorsement is because we have a record of being good on the second amendment, we've taken votes, we've stood with them - from his time as Cass County Prosecutor through his time as Attorney General."

His challenger, Republican Ed Martin, received an AQ rating. That's given to candidates who give favorable responses on a candidate survey, but have not displayed a record on the second amendment.
