Local school districts could soon see a change in school funding.

Wrap: Both the House and Senate Education committees are trying to figure out a way to change education funding.

The current formula bases funding on the amount of students, local tax revenue, and the overall wealth of the district.

Since the state cannot afford to fully fund education, the committees are trying to come up with the best way to distribute money fairly.

Republican Senator Kurt Schaefer says a change may not help every school district.

Actuality:  SCHAEF1.WAV
Run Time:  00:09
Description: "Something's gotta be done, this will just be a difficult one because you do have such disparities between districts and then finding equitable solutions is pretty hard."

Neither the Senate nor House committees took action on the bills.
