To-date in fiscal year 2009 the state of Missouri's net general revenue collections declined a half percent from last year.

The revenue fell from $6.45 billion last year to $6.42 billion this year.

State Budget Director Linda Luebbering made the announcement.

Run Time: 00:13
Description: "It's not unexpected because unemployment is up, and obviously people who do have investments have been losing money on those investments. Both of those things contribute to a loss in income tax."

Luebbering noted that April's individual income tax collections fell short of what was expected.
