The first meeting of the House of Representatives for the special session called by Governor Matt Blunt ended today after only 5 minutes.

House Speaker Rod Jetton presided over a gathering of less than 30 representatives that began with a moment of silence for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The two abortion bills that will be discussed during the special session were introduced today and debate is planned for Wednesday when the House is scheduled to meet again at 10am.
