Governor Holden signing more bills behind closed doors than last year

The Missouri State Legislature passed more than 200 bills this year. While Governor Holden signed the majority of them, many were signed behind closed doors.

Megan Clarke has the story.

Since May, Governor Holden signed almost one-hundred and eighty bills into law, but only 31 were signed in public.

Senate President Pro Temp Peter Kinder says that number is low compared to previous years. Kinder says he's puzzled by Holden's actions.

Kinder says some of the bills signed in secret are very worthy of publicity. Two of the major bills, Foster Care Reform and Action Against Meth Producers are sponsored by Republicans.

Governor Holden made his way around the state today signing into law the Jobs Now bill. But Holden has been very private about signing the majority of bills. Megan Clarke explains.
