Seniors face a cut in the Missouri Senior Rx Program

Democratic officials continue to talk about why a special session is needed for a gap in prescription drug coverage. Jade Mingus reports from the state Capitol.

Joy Williams, member of the Senior Rx Comission and a health and senior services official says if legislation is not passed then there will be a six-month window with no prescription drug coverage. This could affect thousands of Missouri's elderly.

The Missouri Senior Rx program will end in December 2005 and not begin again until July 2006, unless legislators decide the issue in a special session before next year.
