In an effort to save money, Gov. Bob Holden signed budget bills in June 2002 and June 2003 to eliminate Medicaid dental and eyeglass services.

On Monday, St. Louis Circuit Judge Steven Ohmer ordered Missouri to reinstate those benefits, saying the elimination of services violated state law.

Spokesman Scott Holste for Attorney General Jay Nixon says the office has not decided whether to appeal or not.
