Description: Require a food stamp recipient participate in a work program to get food stamps known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Require the Social Services Department to allow expiration of a federal waiver granted the state that exempts food stamp recipients from work requirements. Also restrict imposing higher income or resource restrictions than standards set inthe federal law. This bill has similar provisions as SB 24, vetoed by the governor but overridden by the legislature.
