During an Appropriations Committee meeting Thursday, Republican senators mercilessly criticized Gov. Jay Nixon's budget
Wrap: St. Joseph Republican Senator Rob Schaaf says Gov. Jay Nixon and his staff did not provide data to House and Senate economists on which to base their higher revenue projections for fiscal year 2015.
|Description: "The governor's office came to them and wanted a higher number and they requested the economic, ya know, thought behind it. You know, what is the data upon which you're basing a higher number and the governor's office wouldn't give them any data."|
In his budget, Nixon projects revenue will grow by 5.2 percent while House and Senate economists agreed on 4.2 percent growth.
