Wrap: The director of the Missouri Department of Revenue refused to attend the past three committee mettings to discuss government bidding and contracting.

The process of government bidding still does not have a formal set of rules to follow, and committee members are unable to change the policy without the director present.

Representative Jay Barnes says if the director does not show up to the next meeting, the House will subpoena her.

Actuality:  JBARNES.WAV
Run Time:  00:14
Description: "She's refused to show up three times and instead what she does is sends persons within the department who can answer factual questions but won't give any answers on how policy might be improved, and that's just unacceptable."

The director was unavailable for comment.

Wrap: The director of the Missouri Department of Revenue may be facing a subpoena by the House afer refusing to attend three committee meetings regarding government bidding and contracting.

The department lacks a set of formal rules and regulation, and policy can not be put in place without the presence of the director.

Actuality:  JBARNES2.WAV
Run Time:  00:11
Description: "In terms of public policy, if you have 183 contratcs that you're bidding uot, you want the rules in writing and publicly available so everyone is playing by the same rules."

If the director does not attend the next committee meeting, some members threatened to issue a subpoena.

The director was unavailable for comment.
