The Missouri House passes a bill to push back Senate filing date.

A Senate bill would push back the candidate filing date one month, but some representatives say they oppose this bill.

Wrap:Republican Senator Mike Parson from Bolivar says he hopes to persuade the House Election Committee to push back the senate candidate filing date.

Democratic Representative Pat Conway from St. Joseph, says he opposes the bill, and is concerned the maps would not be ready regardless of a push back.

Description: "That there would be a time at the end of March that they could determine what their campaigns are what they would have to do, I think we're just putting a lot of people out there in limbo and we still don't have any assurance that in four weeks this is going to be ready."

The committee passed the bill with a 7-2 vote.

It now heads to the House floor for debate.

With only one week before the states candidate filing date, the MO House Election Committee passed a bill to push it back one month.

Wrap: The current filing period begins February 28th but with Missouri's senate districts still up in the air, there isn't enough time to redraw district maps before the period begins.

Republican Senator Mike Parson, from Bolivar, wants to move the date back to March 27TH.

Description: "I'd love to throw a fit as much as anybody but at the end of the day there is a process done here in the state of Missouri and I think it is important to let that process go through and hopefully this commission can get that done."

One committee member voted against it saying he doesnt think the maps will be completed by the end of March.

The committee passed the bill.

Wrap: Republican Senator Mike Parson sponsors a bill to push back the candidate filing date one month after a Missouri Supreme Court decision delayed the implantation of the new Missouri senate map.  

Parson says this will give politicians time to decide what office to run for in their new districts.
