Wrap: Two simple words printed on a white piece of paper in the State Capitol on Wednesday said it all...F-B-I meeting....

But federal agents and staff weren't meeting with your elected officials, they were meeting with Senate staff...for the first time in recent memory.

FBI spokesperson Bridget Patton says the meeting was only a meet and greet.

Actuality:  PATTON2.WAV
Run Time:  00:05
Description: "You have newly elected officials you have new staff members, it's just a way to put a name with a face."

But on the other side of the building, House officials say no such "meet and greet" has been scheduled for House staff.

Description: "What you're looking at here is that you have new members, newly elected members, new staff members and you have our agents and our staff doing outreach to put a name with a face."

That was FBI Spokesperson Bridget Patton explaining what brought agents to the capitol on Wednesday.

But in a move not heard of in recent years, FBI agents weren't meeting with your elected Senators...they were meeting with their staff.

House staff confirm the FBI previously met this year with newly elected house members, but not with house staff.
