Wrap:  Hosted by Bed Bugs Central, a New Jersey based company, the summit educated people on the best detection and treatment methods.  Research Entomologist, Jeffrey White, says bed bugs are a very real problem and people need to educate themselves now, before an infestation occurs.  He says a lot of misconceptions contribute to the growing problem.

Description: "You know that bed bugs are associated with filth when they have absolutely no association with filth whatsoever, um, you know, people don't report bed bug infestations because they are scared people are going to think that they're dirty, and you know, bed bugs can infest anybody's home, you know, if you encouter one somewhere and bring them home, anybody can have bed bugs."

White also says it's not good to associate bed bugs with beds because it's common for them to infest other areas of home, such nightstands, dressers and walls.
