Intro:  In response to Missouri DNR Director Mark Templeton's dismissal, the Missouri Republican Party is calling for action within Governor Jay Nixon's administration.
RunTime:  1:07
OutCue:  SOC

Wrap: The Missouri GOP is now saying Nixon should permanently dismiss his own Chief of Staff John Watson, Senior Policy Advisor Jeff Mazur, and Communications Director Jack Cardetti.

Lt. Governor Kinder's Communications Director Gary McElyea says this is because there are too many unanswered questions about the Lake of the Ozarks E. Coli issue.

Actuality:  MCELYEA.WAV
Run Time:  00:07
Description: It seems that the controversy continues to grow, and possibly even a cover up within the Department of Natural Resources and we're not sure how far that goes.

According to McElyea the Senate's Environmental, Energy, and Public Commerce committee is investigating the issue.

Actuality:  MCELYEA2.WAV
Run Time:  00:11
Description: We think results from that investigation are vital to the public safety and the health and well being of Missourians, especially those who visited the Lake of the Ozarks and want to continue to do so.

In a media conference call Wednesday, Nixon said he learned only recently of the high E. Coli levels at the Lake of the Ozarks.

It was in this same conference call that Nixon placed Natural Resources Director Mark Templeton on unpaid temporary leave.

Nixon's staffers had no response to the GOP's statement.
