Senators in Jefferson City worked into the early morning hours on a comprehensive illegal immigration legislation.

Governor Blunt threatened to call a special session if the Legislature didn't pass comprehensive illegal immigrant reform.

Wednesday the senate worked through a small bill that sponsor Luann Ridgeway called a bullet approach to illegal immigration.

Actuality:  IMIG.WAV
Run Time: 00:17
Description:

Very narrowly tailored bullet approach to dealing with the growing problem of illegal immigration in the state of Missouri.

All this bill does, it is about a one page bill... all it does is deny assistance, state public assistance to illegal immigrants.

Disagreements over the wording of the bill resulted in no action.
