It was during the House Tax Committee hearing that Republican Representative Jeff Grisamore identified with his own bill on a personal level.

He told the committee about the death of his daughter who had been his seventh child.

Grisamore said it's difficult to deal with taxes and expensive funeral costs while suffering someone's death.

Description: "To identify with grieving families and the expenses that they incur in the loss of a loved one compared to all the other tax credits and deductions that are out there. How much more should we assist those in this type of situation."

Grisamore's bill would authorize an income tax deduction for all funeral costs up to five-thousand dollars.

No one testified against the bill that remains pending before the committee.
