Intro: One bill passed through the Missouri House will require Missouri state government buildings to fly both the state and national flags half staff for one whole day when any Missouri resident is killed in combat.
Jessica Miller has more from Jefferson City. Both Republicans and Democrats came together on the floor of the Missouri House in support of a bill that pays tribute to fallen Missouri residents.
The bill requires both the state and national flags be flown half staff for twenty-four hours when any Missouri resident is killed in military combat.
Republican Representative Scott Muschany and Sponsor of the bill Democratic Representative Tim Meadows discussed the definition of serving the United States.
Muschany:Who sacrificed more..the president who serves the country, or a twenty-six year old kid from Perryville who gives his life for this country? And I would argue, it was the twenty-six year old kid. Meadows:Exactly, so would I gentlemen. Reporting from Jefferson City, Jessica Miller, KMOX News.
