Republican Representative Mike Sutherland sponsored the bill he says will raise awareness about energy issues.
The state estimates that the tax exempt week will cost the General Revenue Fund about $265,000 in the 2009 Fiscal Year.

Emily Rau (Ra-oww) has more from the State Capitol. Pending Senate approval, Missouri's first Show-Me Green Week will be this November.
The bill creating a tax holiday is intended to increase consumer interest in energy efficient appliances.
Republican Representative Mike Sutherland sponsored the bill to help Missourians save the earth while saving money.
After this year Show-Me Green Week will be moved to April to celebrate Earth Day.
