Intro: Missouri lawmakers have made it easier for a given population to incorporate their own village.
Brandon Smith has the opposition's view. Speaker Rod Jetton added the particular amendment that would make it virtually impossible for a county commission to turn down a petition as long as 15 percent of the voters in the created village sign it.
Republican Representative Dennis Wood opposed the move and says he plans to introduce a bill to change the law back to the way it was before Jetton's amendment.
