Intro: The Senate's Transportation Committee chairman is proposing a major tax increase for the Interstates.
Bill Stouffer's bill would raise the sales tax by a penny on the dollar to expand the Interstates.
His measure would require voter approval, which Stouffer says he thinks it would get:
Stouffer's proposal would earmark the sales tax funds for making both Interstate 70 and Interstate 44 full eight-lane highways throughout the state.
