Intro: A Missouri Republican Party press release accused Attorney General and Democratic candidate for governor Jay Nixon of illegally using a state vehicle to attend political fundraising events.
Brandon Smith has more from Jefferson City. Other Missouri State Officials, including Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder and State Treasurer Sarah Steelman, have confirmed they never use state vehicles for non-official purposes.
The Missouri Democratic Party has not denied the accusation.
Missouri Highway Patrol spokesman Timothy Hull said the Highway Patrol is required by Missouri statute to provide secrurity to the Governor and his family no matter where he goes. Reporting from the State Capitol, I'm Brandon Smith.
