Activists attending the rally at the state Capitol witnessed state legislators speak out in favor of improving mental health care. Representative Jeff Harris said that the public's stigma towards the mentally handicapped must be stopped. The Democrat from Columbia said that Medicaid cuts damage opportunities to improve mental health care. Senate Bill 577, which currently awaits committee approval, would restructure Medicaid support to Missourians with low income. From the state capitol, I'm Kevin Gehl.
