Intro: At a press conference, Governor Matt Blunt remained steadfast in his backing of chief of staff Ed Martin.
Brandon Smith has more from Jefferson City. Martin has recently come under fire from the Hispanic community for what were deemed racist remarks about Mexican-Americans. Despite pressure from leaders in the Hispanic community, Governor Blunt continued to voice full support for his embattled chief of staff.
The Kansas City area Republican acknowledged Martin's comments were indelicate and inartful, but he said they did not warrant terminations or apologies. Reporting from the State Capitol, I'm Brandon Smith.
