Intro: The St. Louis Kingshighway armory could more than double its size under the recent expansion of the Missouri National Guard.
Ben DeMeyer (DEE-my-er) has more from the state capitol. The number of soldiers at Kingshighway could grow from 171 to 392 with the addition of a new infantry battalion to the Missouri Guard.
The battalion, which would consist of 810 soldiers, would be stationed throughout the state, with 221 soldiers in St. Louis.
Captain Tamara Spicer says the guard is ready to have its first infantry battalion in over 30 years.

Description: Our adjutant general Major General King Sidwell was able to stand up and say, "The Missouri National Guard can fill its units, we are anxious to fill an infantry battalion."
Spicer says it is the current strength of the guard that filled over 100 percent of open positions that made the expansion possible.
