When the Missouri legislature passed the bridge reconstruction plan it had a proposed budget of 400 to 600 million dollars but was vague on where the money would come from.

Ken Warbritton, the project director of MoDOT's bridge improvement program, says MoDOT expects the federal government to pay 80 to 90 percent of the project's costs.

Description: The whole intent of our contract is to make sure that as much as possible nearly all of it will qualify for federal funding reimbursement.

Missouri recieves 130 million dollars annully for bridge repair, but Warbritton says they only expect to put about one third of that money behind this project.
