Intro: Schools across the state could see an opportunity to implement a federally structured abstinence only plan. Fanna (FAUNA) Haile-Selassie (HIGH-lay-sah-LAH-say) was in the House when the vote was taken.

OutCue: SOC In the House chamber, lawmakers gave support to a bill that would allow Missouri schools to have a new option of sex education. Schools would be able to teach the Federally structured abstinence only program that is not permitted in Missouri now. Kansas City Democratic representative Beth Low was adamant that provisions for the federal abstinence plan is not the way to go.
