President Bush comes to Jefferson City

The president addressed an audience in Jefferson City; the format was similar to that of a town-hall meeting. Dan Frumson has more from the State Capitol.

President Bush's Medicare campaign made a stop at the Miller Performing Arts Center. However six people shared the stage with him. Some of them work on medicare while others, like Bob Vanderfeltz of Jefferson City, spoke about their personal experience with the new medicare plan.

"My normal run was... I was paying about $140 a month, which is now seven dollars a month. Yeah hear that. $140 dollars a month now he's paying seven dollars a month. Here's a guy, he may not be computer literate, but he's smart enough to call and ask advice for a program that's saving him a lot of money."

President Bush says 29 million people have already signed up, and there are seven million more people still elligable for the new Medicare plan.
