Intro: The chandelier in the state capitol rotunda is getting a lift.
Visitors to the state capitol normally see a 9,000 pound bronze chandelier hanging 87 feet above them in the rotunda.
This week however, contractors are replacing the chandelier's cable and the massive structure is currently sitting at eye level.
General contractor Ken Lamm says the maintenance is just precautionary.
Lamm says while the chandelier is down, contractors will replace all of its light bulbs and test its eight smaller cables for safety. Lamm says the chandelier should be back up by early next week. From Jefferson City, I'm Beverly Rivera.
