The Senate's Special Committee to Investigate Medicaid fraud heard from an expert witness Wednesday.
Medicaid Fraud Control Unit Director Rick Williams endorsed the Qui Tam Provision.
"We believe the false claims act with the Qui Tam provisions would be of great assistance in our effort to combat Medicare fraud in the State."

Missouri's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit Director Rick Williams cited Texas as a model for Medicaid fraud law.
Texas implemented a false claims act similar to the one being debated in Missouri legistlature.
"Texas estimates that its return investment is $15 recovered for every dollar invested. Not a bad return on your money."

Earlier this month, the committee heard testimony from Texas Inspector General Brian Flood, which praised Texas for separating the department that investigates fraud from the Medicaid agency that pays out medical bills.
