JEFFERSON CITY - A staph infection will keep Sen. Chuck Graham, D-Columbia, from the Senate this week.
Graham was admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City on Monday for treatment with antibiotics and rest for the bacterial infection on his leg, according to his Chief-of-Staff, Ted Farnen.
"He feels fine," Farnen said. "If it's not taken care of it can turn into something serious."
Farnen said he expects Graham to be released from the hospital Wednesday and back to work in the capitol next week.
Graham was supposed to discuss two of his bills this week in Senate committee hearings. One bill would protect journalists from forced disclosure of sources and the other would establish county boards to oversee funding for some regional recreational districts.
