Senator pushes Eminent Domain reform

A constitutional amendment to combat Eminent Domain abuse could soon be on the ballot.

Senator Kevin Engler, a republican from Farmington, wants to let the people of Missouri vote on Eminent Domain reform.

Engler proposed a constitutional amendment to ban the use Eminent Domain for private redevelopment.

He warned the legislature that if it doesn't act, the people will.

"I can guarantee you that the people will have something on the ballot soon as an initiative petition, and I feel strongly that it will pass with an overwhelming majority

The proposed amendment comes shortly after the Governor's Task Force proposed its recommendations for Eminent Domain reform.
