John Amick

John Amick, native of Jefferson City, Missouri, earned a B.A. in Corporate Communications in May of 2005 from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. He has interned in the office of U.S. Congressman Sam Graves and currently reports for the Columbia Missourian, covering the state health beat at the state Capitol building in Jefferson City. He is the webmaster for "Global Journalist," a weekly radio program broadcast on KBIA in Columbia. He is the in the MU School of Journalism's graduate Strategic Communications sequence.

Giving whistleblowers financial incentive to reveal Medicaid fraud has been a main point of interest for the committee in rooting out waste and abuse in the system. The committee plans to form suggestions on how to fix fraud within the state's Medicaid system by the March 1st bill filing deadline.
