The Senate bill to cut the number of Missourians eligible for Medicaid is on the agenda for debate tonight.
Senator Pat Dougherty from St. Louis City has been preparing his attacks on the bill.
"The private sector people will be paying more if this bill passes, and people will be sicker.

The Senate bill to cut Medicaid has brought out vocal opposition in the democratic party. Meghan Kloth has more from Jefferson City.
Democratic Senator Pat Dougherty from St. Louis City is preparing for a long night if the bill to cut Medicaid comes up in the senate.
Dougherty wants to fight Medicaid cuts, because he believes they aren't an answer to the problem in Missouri.
"They are cutting people off before solving the financial crisis. They are using that as an excuse to throw thirty thousand of their fellow men and women, some elderly and some not, off of healthcare."

A former welfare case worker turned senator will fight to stop cuts to Medicaid.
St. Louis City Democratic Senator Pat Dougherty is the lead voice against the bill to cut the number of people eligible for medicaid.
Dougherty says there are certain ammendments he wants put back into the bill and he is prepared for discussion to take a few days.
"I'm always amazed that it's someone with healthcare going against some else, and when the dust settles, its the people going after who still have healthcare, and the other peope don't."
