The Missouri National Guard has deployed to Louisiana on state emergency duty.
Dustin Blanchard is travelling with one of the convoys to New Orleans.
The convoy, one of several leaving the state, hit the road at eight this morning.
48 guardsmen and 22 vehicles, headed to provide security in New Orleans.
A St. Louis guardsman compares this mission to his time near another gulf, half a world away.
The convoy will stop tonight at Camp McCain in Mississippi before heading on to New Orleans tomorrow.
Embedded with the 175th Military Police Batallion, I'm Dustin Blanchard.
