Missouri Democrats say the renovations to Governor Blunt's office could cost more than one hundred thousand dollars in taxpayer money.
Dan Frumson has more from the state Capitol.
The hammering of nails, ripping of carpet and other construction sounds give House Democrats headaches, and not just from the noise.
House Minority Leader Jeff Harris sounded off on the renovation of Governor Blunt's offices.
"Certainly when the Governor said that he was going to be remodeling state government we didn't realize he was talking about new carpeting in his office."
Blunt's administration says the renovation cost is closer to twenty thousand dollars.
The administration also says it has been twelve years since the last renovation.
From the state Capitol, I'm Dan Frumson.
