Democrats are upset with Republicans sponsoring a bill to build a bridge in memory of Ronald Reagan. Dan Frumson has more from the state Capitol .
The Republican's want to pass a bill that would create a bridge over the Mississippi honoring late President Ronald Reagan. Democrats such as Sen. Pat Dougherty of St. Louis City oppose the building of such a bridge.
"I do know that he was the president who sunk this county into significant debt that took us years and years to get out of because of his misguided tax policies. That's not to denigrate the role he had in the Cold War. But to take one element out of that presidency and say that deserves to be to be focused on and therefore something as significant as naming a major bridge after him, I don't think so."
Republican Senator John Loudon is the sponsor of the bill.
From the state Capitol, I'm Dan Frumson
