JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri's House voted Tuesday to make it a crime to transport minors to other states for abortions without parental consent.

The bill's sponsor, Rep. Jane Cunningham, R-St. Louis County, told the House minor children in Missouri were going to abortion clinics in Illinois where parental consent is not required for an abortion.

"It is wrong for people to circumvent Missouri's law and to take girls intentionally across the line to Illinois," Cunningham said. "We need to close that loophole."

The rest of the original story has been pulled because of several incorrect attributions.
