Senate Democrats urge a Break for Middle Class

Democrats in the Senate excused the Republicans of allowing exploitation of the middle class.

On a day which the Capitol saw hundreds of protesters in the hallways, Senate Democrats say the proposed budget cuts do not address the issue. Democrat Victor Callahan of Independence says this problem is recurring.

"There's a common theme of who gets to fight all the wars, build the greatest and most powerful economy in the history of the world, build the greatest society in the history of the world, and yet, guess who gets to pay all the bills too? It's the middle class."

Republican Senator Jon Dolan of St. Charles says that the proposed budget contains a set of hard choices, which are needed to balance the budget.
