JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Bob Holden announced Monday that Mary Rhodes Russell will be the next member of the state's highest court. The appointment makes Russell one of two women serving on the seven-member court for the first time.
Russell, 46, served as a judge on the state Court of Appeals in St. Louis for nine years. She began her law career in 1983 as a clerk for Missouri Supreme Court Judge George Gunn.
