Once again... Missouri legislators are working to add a student member to the UM Board... that can vote.
Paul Matadeen has the story.
Rep. Brian Baker, a Kansas City area Republican says he will introduce a bill... by Monday...that would add a voting student member to the UM Board of Curators. Law makers have been trying to pass a bill like this for years, but Baker says he's confident this year will be different.
A student already sits on the board . . . but only as an observer, without voting power.
It's an initative that has been shot down for years.
But Missouri legislators are again proposing a bill that would add a voting student member to the UM Board.
Paul Matadeen has the latest from the state capitol.
The plan to give the student member of the UM Board voting power is not new.
The bill's sponsor says the idea has been proposed for over three years.
It calls for a voting member of the UM Borard and junior observer.
Rep. Baker, a Kansas City Republican says the position would offer a new perspective for the Curators.
Baker plans to file the Bill on Monday.
From the state capitol, this is Paul Matadeen.
