The state of Missouri can't enforce federal guidelines that say ambulance drivers and paramedics should be near the front of the line for flu vaccinations. Bente Birkeland has more from Jefferson City.
The CDC recommends flu vaccines for all emergency responders that deal directly with patients.
Sue Denny, a spokesperson for the Department of Health, says they are unable to give everyone the vaccine.
The state of Missouri can't enforce the CDC guidelines. Denny says health care providers are the ones who ultimately decide who gets the vaccine.
