Republican floor leader says UM system is to blame for higher tuition

The Missouri House Republican floor leader pointed a finger at the University of Missouri system as the true reason for rising tuition. Cliff Judy is at the State Capitol with the story.

House Republican Floor Leader Jason Crowell spoke in favor of a bill for a higher education budget.

He says universities themselves are responsible for higher tuition costs, not the state.

Contents: Crowell says, "My conclusion is MU is using the financial situation the state is in and they're blanking the students. They're raising the tuition."

Crowell says not only did the UM system's budget rise since 2000, but they made their students pay for a larger chunk of that budget. From the State Capitol, I'm Cliff Judy.
