Child abuse rally at State Capitol

Members of Bikers Against Child Abuse flooded the lawn of the State Capitol today to show their support of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Lindsay Shively has the story.

Contents: Motorcycles revving engines

The Members of Bikers Against Child Abuse mounted their motorcycles in rememberance of the 46 Missouri children who died from abuse this year. A blue balloon for each child was released to the sound of the revving engines. Giving only his roadname Scootr, a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse says the problem can no longer be ignored.

House Speaker Catherine Hanaway pushed for support of her foster care bill today at a rally marking the beginning of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Lindsay Shively has the story.

Child abuse protesters gathered on the front steps of the State Capitol today. House Speaker Catherine Hanaway was one of the guest speakers. Hanaway is currently sponsoring a bill to reform foster care and says prevention needs to be the focus in the fight against child abuse.
