The fate of two bills lies in the hands of a Senator who is on active duty in Guantanamo Bay. Zack Ottenstein (Ah-Ten-stine) has the story.

On Wednesday the House voted by a wide margin to override Gov. Holden's vetoes of an abortion bill and a concealed weapons bill.

Now both bills go to the Senate, where the vote is expected to be narrow.

Republicans say an override on the concealed weapons bill depends on Senator Jon Dolan's return from active duty.

Senate floor Leader Mike Gibbons says he doesn't know whether Dolan will make it back for the vote:

Republicans say they can override the abortion bill without Dolan.

On Thursday Senate Republicans will try to override Gov. Holden's vetoes of an abortion bill and a concealed weapons bill.

However Republicans don't know whether they will have the support of Sen. Jon Dolan.

Dolan is currently serving on a naval base in Cuba.

Senate president pro tem Peter Kinder says that without Dolan the Senate won't be able to override the concealed weapons bill.
