Telephone Campaign Targets Freshmen Lawmakers

An orchestrated telephone campaign is targeting freshmen Republicans in the House of Representatives, urging the lawmakers to support a tax increase package.

Republicans say as many as teo dozen of their freshmen colleagues are getting phone calls from elderly citizens.

The campaign appears to be an effort by a coalition of groups including the Missouri Democratic Party.
